William Maddocks guilty of a burglary in the dwelling house of Thomas Hughes in Liverpool on 26^th December 1790: stealing therefrom 5 silver teaspoons (valued at7/6), a pair of scales for measuring gold and their box (valued at 5/-), a pair of silver sugar tongs (valued at 5/-), 2 silver salt cellars (valued at 10/-), a blue duffel cloak (valued at 1/-), a check apron (valued at 6d) and 35 cards (valued at 2d) - the property of Thomas Hughes; a silver cream jug (valued at 12/-) and a punch ladle (valued at 5/-) - the property of Sarah Hughes; 2 iron keys (valued at 2d) - the property of Thomas Hughes and Thomas Hughes the younger; and a pair of shoe buckles (valued at 6d) and 2 pairs of men’s shoes (valued at 2/-) - the property of Thomas Hughes the younger.
